AUGUSTA, GA - Augusta baseball seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off home run at the end of the game to topple Georgia Southwestern. The Jags were down 6-5 in the bottom of the ninth inning when
Kyle Lodise homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.
Lodise led AU to victory by driving in four runs. He went 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in runs in the third inning and a hitting a home run in the ninth.
Down 5-1,
Rushton Bowles would cross home plate on an error before
Pat Galvin smashed a 2 RBI double, bringing the Jags within 1. The Hurricanes would tack on a run in the eighth inning but Loside's late 3 RBI homer sealed the win for the home team.
Mason Bernard pitched to start the game for Augusta. The pitcher allowed six hits and five runs over four innings, striking out three.
Jasper Dubberly (1-0) earned the victory on the hill for Augusta. Dubberly allowed one hit and one run over one inning, striking out one batter.
Brian Trepanier,
Dominic Canale, and
Brian Trepanier entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game.
The Jags racked up ten hits. Lodise, \ Bowles, and
Koby Ayala each racked up multiple hits. Bowles and Lodise each collected three hits to lead the team. AU didn't commit a single error in the field.

Augusta (2-7) will continue its three-game series with Georgia Southwestern (6-2) Sat Feb 25
th. Weather permitting, first pitch is at 2pm.
