AUGUSTA, GA- Augusta University softball (4-2) earned the doubleheader sweep over the visiting Newberry Wolves (2-2), winning game one 7-1 before walking off the 4-3 win in the second game.
 
With the bases loaded in the first Lauren Barrett reached first on an error by Newberry's third base, scoring Grace Bridges.
 
After a scoreless second inning, Lauren Slade doubled to left center field. RBI doubles by Bailee Roberts and Bobbi Poff pushed the Jaguar lead to 3-0. A bases loaded homer from Roberts in the bottom of the fourth inning gave AU a commanding 7-0 lead.
 
Newberry's Hailey Hill homered from Newberry's single score of the game.
 
Bailee Roberts led AU, going 3-for-4 with 2 runs and 5 RBI. Five other Jaguars collected hits in the first game of the day. 

Alissa Bolinger (2-0) started on the mound for Augusta, allowing five hits and one runs in her 6.2 innings of work.
 
Ansley Gibson (2-1) got the start in game 2. Pitching all eight innings, Gibson allowed nine hits and three runs while striking out two batters.
 
After singling and stealing second, Grace Bridges scored off a Paige Patterson single to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
 
Newberry would even the score 1-1 in the second inning. After the visiting team carded another single score in the third inning, Lauren Slade singled, scoring Lauren Evens and evening the score at 2-2.
 
With one runner on in the fifth inning, Bobbi Poff singled to score Bailee Roberts to knot the game at 3. Both teams remained scoreless and headed into an extra, deciding eight inning.
 
Grace Bridges singled to send Hailey Pearson across the plate for the winning run.
 
Bridges was 3-for-5 to lead Augusta. Bailee Roberts, Lauren Barrett, and Lauren Evens each turned in two hits.
