Augusta Baseball Takes Down No. 1 North Greenville 12-4 - Jaguars Card 16 Hits Against Defending National Champion

AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University baseball team stunned the No. 1 ranked North Greenville Crusaders 12-4 on Wednesday afternoon at Jaguar Field. The Jaguars handed the Crusaders their second loss of the season in a dominant fashion, carding 16 hits against the defending DII national champion.

Four hits from Parker Ingram helped lead AU past North Greenville. Ingram singled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, homered in the seventh, and singled in the eighth.

North Greenville University got things moving in the second inning off a solo homer.

Augusta evened things up at one in the bottom of the third inning when Harrison Aulds's sac fly scored  JBen Haynes. After tacking on a run on a passed ball in the fifth inning, the Jags exploded for four runs in the 6th inning.

The Crusaders scored three runs in the seventh inning comeback attempt RBIs in the inning, but the hot bats of Augusta stifled North Greenville for good in the following inning.

Augusta scored five runs in the eighth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Aulds, Rushton Bowles, and Ingram and an error on a ball put in play by Charlie Erickson.

Turner Sircy started the game for AU, pitching three innings and allowing a single run. Brian Trepanier earned the win for AU, surrendering no runs on one hit over two innings, striking out three and walking zero. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Jasper Dubberly, Dominic Canale, Aedan Cates, and Logan Howell all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

The home team tallied 16 hits in the game. Pat Galvin, Koby Ayala, Kyle Lodise, Bowles, Ingram, and Aulds each collected multiple hits for the Jags. Ingram went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
