AUGUSTA, GA– The Augusta University baseball team completed the series sweep of Claflin Monday afternoon with a 17-3 route. Augusta is now 10-10, 6-6 PBC play. The Jags are set to host Coker on Wed March 15 at 2pm for single game at home at Jaguar Field.
Kyle Lodise helped lead Augusta to victory with three walks.
AU struck first, scoring a single run from
Mike Morrison's sac fly. A single from
Parker Ingram scored Jordan Wilke and
Harrison Aulds. A bases loaded walk and a double evened the score for Claflin.
The Jaguars pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth
Pat Galvin doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and
Jordan Wilkie's sac fly scored one run for AU.
Augusta notched six runs in the eighth inning. Kyle Laroche, Lodise, Galvin, and Aulds all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
J.R. Fordham got the win for Augusta . The pitcher went six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out seven.
Brian Trepanier threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Augusta University Jaguars totaled 12 hits. Aulds went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits. The Jags stole seven bases during the game. Lodise led the way with two.
