AUGUSTA, Ga - the No. 18 Augusta University men's basketball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference tournament with an 85-75 victory over Flagler.

Often during the night, sophomore Ja'Queze Kirby provided both an offensive and defensive spark. Kirby blocked a shot on one end and then scored on the other to help the Jaguars build a 13-8 lead over Flagler with 11:28 remaining in the first half. Tyree Myers and Omar Figueroa traded threes to end the first half, putting the Jaguars up 35-30 heading into halftime.
David Viti had one of his biggest games this season, scoring 10 points in the first half alone.
Flagler would make an offensive push in the second quarter, tying the game at 46 with 13:27 left to play but an 8-0 run from Kirby and Viti gave AU a solid lead in the final ten minutes of play.
Floor general Tyree Myers had a breakout night, carding 20 points and dishing six assists. Myers was 4-for-7 from the three point line.
Kirby also had an impressive stat line, scoring 17 points to go along with 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 4 assists. David Viti turned in a 15 point performance.
Augusta will battle the No. 6 seed Columbus State Cougars on Friday, February 3 at 7:30 pm in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
