KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Augusta's
Tyshaun Crawford was one of 16 players named to the 2023 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-America Team, announced Tuesday morning. He was a first team NABC All-District selection as well.
Crawford joins seven other Augusta University basketball players to be named All-Americans.
"Very Proud of Tyshaun's development as a player and person in his career," said head coach
Dip Metress. "We have been very fortunate to have players selected eight times for All American status by the NABC and hopefully we have more guys that play in Christenberry Fieldhouse in front of some of the greatest fans in the country at our level."
The NABC All-America Team is selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division II. These student-athletes represent the most outstanding basketball players across America in Division II.
The 7-foot-1 center led the Jaguars to a 27-6 overall record with his 21.4 points per game, a mark that places him first in the Peach Belt Conference and 15th among Division II scorers. Crawford also tops the conference in field goals and field goal percentage (65 %). Crawford is first in the conference in blocks (2.0 BPG) and second in rebounds (8.0 rebounds per game). He led the conference in offensive rebounding (3.4 per game).
Crawford was named the first team All-PBC, 2023 PBC Tournament MVP and to the 2023 Bevo Francis Top 25 watch list
