AUGUSTA, Ga -- The Augusta University softball team fell 7-4 to Georgia Southwestern in the first game of the day before falling 5-4 in a tightly contested game 2. Augusta is now 12-10 while Georgia Southwestern is 16-5. The Jaguars have a short turnaround. The team will travel to Emmanuel in Franklin Springs, Ga. On Tuesday March 7 for a non-conference doubleheader.

- Bobbi Poff hit a 2 RBI homer to open scoring in the second inning.
- Lauren Barrett double to left field and drove in the final two AU scored of the game in the sixth inning.
- Ansley Gibson (6-5) struck out 2, allowing eight hits and 7 runs.
- The Jaguars collected six hits.
- Lauren Evens and Poff led, both going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.

- Augusta capitalized on home team errors to score 2 runs in the second inning.
- Huge second and third innings gave the Hurricanes a 4-2 lead.
- Savana Bibbins doubled to left center field sent two home and evened the score in the fourth inning.
- The final single run of the day came off a bases loaded ground out for the 5-4 Georgia Southwestern victory.
- Alissa Bolinger, Maggie McBrayer, and Hayden Pearson each saw time on the mound for the Jags
- Bailee Roberts and Bibbins both turned in two hits
