COLUMBUS, Ga. – In a tight 4-3 contest, The No. 30 Augusta University men's tennis team defeated the No. 22 University of North Georgia men's tennis team fell in the Peach Belt Conference quarterfinals at Walden Tennis Center
The Nighthawks took the doubles point winning all three matches. North Georgia continued to roll, taking a 6-4, 6-2 straight set victory to make it a 2-0 lead.
Augusta would take the next three flights to storm back, taking a 3-2 lead with two flights to play.
Dominant wins from
Herick Isago and
Alexis Bailhache turned the tide for the Jaguars. A 6-2, 6-3 win from
Arthur Valette gave Augusta a 3-2 advantage.
A 7-6, 6-3 loss at the No. 5 singles spot evened it at 3-3. An all-out three sets battle between
Enzo Garutti and north Georgia's Daniel Ostap would be the deciding factor of the match, After dropping the first set 7-5, Garutti battled back winning the next two sets 6-4, 6-4 and the Jaguars were able to take the final point, advancing to the PBC Semifinal round to face host Columbus State.

The Jaguars face Columbus State at 11:00am on Saturday April 21 in the PBC semifinals.
