Columbus, Ga. – The Augusta University men's tennis team was eliminated from the Peach Belt Conference tournament by top-seeded host Columbus State 4-0 on Saturday morning. Columbus State was the PBC regular season champion and is ranked No. 3 in the country.
Columbus State took the early doubles point after winning 6-3 and 6-2 in the No. 2 and No. 3 singles.
At the No. 1 singles spot, Quenin Cano fell 6-3, 6-2 before
Alexis Bailhache fell 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 3 slot. The Cougars secured the 4-0 victory with a 6-4, 602 defeat at the No. 5 spot.

Augusta was ranked No. 5 in the last regional poll and await NCAA selection to find out if they will advance further into the postseason. The final selection by the NCAA for regional play will be at 8 p.m. April 24. Eight teams will be selected in the Southeast region for the national tournament. In the Southeast region, the winners from the Peach Belt Conference, South Atlantic Conference and Conference Carolinas tournaments earn automatic berths while the other five will be at-large selections based on the regional rankings.
