Fox Named Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach

AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University Women's basketball program has added Ashleigh Fox as the new assistant coach, as announced by Head Coach Celeste Stewart.

"I am thrilled to have Ashleigh Fox join our women's basketball program," said Stewart. "She has been eager to start working with our team and I look forward to the impact she can make on our program. She brings a wealth of coaching experience; she is also very familiar with the Peach Belt Conference with her experience as a student-athlete. Ashleigh's passion for making a positive impact on student-athletes on and off the court truly aligns with the vision I have for our program. Excited about the future of Augusta Women's Basketball."

Fox was most recently the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Discovery High School in Lawrenceville, GA. In her first year (2021-2022) as head of the program, she coached the Lady Titans to their second state playoff appearance in program history. Prior to relocating to Gwinnett County, Fox coached for five seasons as the head varsity girls' basketball coach at Northside High (Warner Robins). During the 2016-2017 season, she led the Northside Lady Eagles to a Region 1-6A championship over Valdosta High. Coach Fox was recognized as the 2017 Region 1-6A Coach of the Year. In 2018, the Lady Eagles advanced to the Sweet 16 and were eliminated by the eventual state champions, Lovejoy High. Prior to accepting the head coaching position at Northside, she served as the assistant girls' basketball coach, assistant track & field coach, and head girls' soccer coach at Jones County High in Gray, GA.

Fox's collegiate career began as a walk-on at Georgia College with the Lady Bobcats. While at Georgia College, she was recognized as a Peach Belt Conference 2009-2010 Silver Scholar and 2010-2011 Gold Scholar of the Presidential Honor Roll. She was privileged to serve as a representative for the Student Athletic Advisory Committee as well as a team captain during her last two seasons. Fox graduated from Georgia College with her Master of Arts in Teaching in Kinesiology & Physical Education. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Fox is a product of Gwinnett County, GA where she played basketball at Parkview High School.
