AUGUSTA, Ga – The Augusta University volleyball team swept Flagler College 3-0 on Friday night to open Peach Belt Conference play. The Jags improve to 10-3, 1-0 PBC while Flagler falls to 2-10, 0-1 PBC. Augusta will face Flagler again on Saturday, September 23 for a 3 p.m. matchup.

Augusta opened the match with a service Ace from Buggs, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Flagler would keep the beginning of the set close, utilizing an AU service error to tie the game at 9. The Jags used a 7-2 run to help seal the set.
 
Flagler got off to a hot start in the second set, but a 4-0 from the home team evened the score. The Jaguars held the Saints to a negative hitting percentage in Set 2, winning 25-17, The third and final set proved more of the same, with AU turning in a .256 hitting percentage and taking the final set 25-18.
 
Jazmyn Wheeler anchored the offense, smashing home 15 kills with no errors to go along with 3 blocks. Sophia Kruczko had 8 kills and 2 blocks.
 
Defensively, Dariana Luna led the match with 21 digs. Janvier Buggs and Ally Thees were both in double-digit digs, recording 12 and 10 respectively.
 
Buggs dished a game-high 23 assists.
