Jaguars Dominate Pacers 75-51 to Improve to 4-0 in Peach Belt Play

AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University women's basketball team blew past the visiting USC Aiken Pacers 75-51 to improve to 4-0 in Peach Belt Conference play. AU sits atop the PBC with Lander as the only two undefeated teams. Augusta is now 10-4, 4-0 PBC while USC Aiken falls to 4-9, 0-4 in conference.

Augusta opened scoring with back-to-back threes from Autumn Phillips which sparked a 9-0 scoring run. A jumper from Malia Grace with 1:30 left to play in the first quarter extended the lead to 21-10. Augusta kept the pressure on the second quarter, using 55.6% field goal shooting to take a 44-19 lead at halftime.

While USC Aiken outscored Augusta 19-13 in the third quarter, the Jags went into the final period with a comfortable 58-38 lead. AU would go on to take the victory 64-44.

The Jags were dominant in the paint, outscoring the Pacers 48-26 down low.
 
Graduate student Kennedi Manning led Augusta with 17 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks. Tomiyah Alford added 12 points and seven rebounds in the win. Phillips tallied 10 points and seven rebounds while Grace was 5-for-6 from the field for a season-high 10 points.
Augusta returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 17 when they travel to St. Augustine to play Flagler. Live stats and video will be available at augustajags.com.
