Women's golf sits 8th after opening round of The Southern

SAVANNAH, GA.- After two rounds of The Southern hosted by Georgia Southern, the Augusta Universtiy women's team sits in a tie eighth place. The team posted rounds of 311 and 313 and are tied with Charleston Southern heading into Tuesday's final round. The host Georgia Southern Eagles lead the tournament with Campbell and Charlotte. 

Marine Legentil was the low AU golfer carding rounds of 75 and 74 for a total of 149 (+5) and is tied for ninth. The freshman from France had a stretch of four straight birdies in her second round and posted six birdies on the day. Zoe Pinillos is in a tie for 24th at +10. Pinillos started play with an opening round 75. Gwendolyn Yarnell and Sara Adams both registered rounds in the 70's that counted towards the team score.

Georgia Southern's Mary MIller leads the individual race at -5 followed by teammate Louise Reau (-4) and Isabella Hahne (-1) of Campbell, as the only golfers under par through two rounds.

Tuesday's final round will also be a shotgun starting at 8:30 a.m. at Savannah Golf Club.
