AUGUSTA, GA – The Augusta University volleyball team (13-5, 1-3 PBC) earned an impressive 3-0 sweep over Mount Olive (15-7, 11-2 Conference Carolinas) on October 27, 2024, at the George A. Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars dominated the match with set scores of 25-18, 25-12, and 25-16.

The standout performance of the day came from setter Janvier Buggs, who delivered a season-high 30 assists, setting the tone for Augusta's efficient attack. Buggs also contributed 7 kills on a .467 hitting percentage and added 10 digs, showcasing her all-around impact. Her playmaking enabled the Jaguars to hit .250 as a team, while holding Mount Olive to a low .036 hitting percentage.

Augusta's front line was led by Madelyn Eden, who recorded 7 kills with a stellar .636 hitting percentage, while also leading the team defensively with 5 blocks. Mikayla Kline added to the offense with 10 kills and chipped in 9 digs. Layne Witherspoon was a key presence at the net, contributing 4 kills and 4 blocks. Freshman Lauren Posa also made an impact, scoring 2 crucial kills late in the second set to help secure the win.

Libero Giulia Rodrigues anchored the defense with 16 digs, while the team's serving game kept Mount Olive off balance, as Augusta tallied 7 service aces throughout the match.

The Jaguars established control early, pulling away in the first set with a late 6-1 run to take a 25-18 victory. They carried that momentum into the second set, hitting .310 and cruising to a 25-12 win. In the third set, Augusta maintained their composure, closing out the match with a 25-16 victory to seal their 13th win of the season.
