Box Score Greenwood, SC – The Augusta University volleyball team (20-7, 4-4 PBC) fell to Flagler College (14-10, 5-3 PBC) in the Peach Belt Conference Championship match on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Horne Arena. The Saints claimed the title with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, and 25-19. Despite the loss, the Jaguars will now shift their focus to the NCAA Tournament.
Match Recap:
Augusta faced a strong Flagler team that hit .292 for the match. The Jaguars kept the first two sets close with standout performances from Jada Suguturaga and Madelyn Eden. Suguturaga tallied 6 kills on a .235 hitting percentage and added 3 blocks, while Eden contributed 6 kills and 3 block assists, hitting .273.
In the third set, Augusta fought hard, with Sophia Kruczko leading the way offensively, hitting .286 with 6 kills. Marin Freeland and Layne Witherspoon provided additional support at the net, while libero Rylie Harris recorded a team-high 6 digs. Setter Janvier Buggs facilitated the offense with 21 assists and added a service ace.
