COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Augusta men's basketball team picked up their first win of the year as they dismantled Benedict College 89-69 in Columbia, S.C.. The Jaguars are now 1-4 overall while the Tigers fall to 0-5.

Four players reached double figures for Augusta led by Maximillian Amadasun and John St. Germain III, who both scored 22 points. Freshman TJ Baker had his best game as a Jaguar with 15 points, four assists, four rebounds and four steals. Demitri Gardner ended the game with 12 points.

Baker hit a three pointer just over five minutes into the game giving Augusta a five point lead as they would extend the lead from there. By the time they reached the break, AU led 44-30 and were never challenged in the final 20 minutes.

Augusta also had their best game shooting hitting on 9 of 19 from three point range. Baker and St. Germain played a big part in those numbers as they were a combined 7 of 10 from deep.
