Spartanburg, SC – The Augusta men's basketball team extended their winning streak to seven games with an 89-81 win over Converse University on Saturday evening. With the win, the Jaguars improve to 7-4 overall and 1-0 in Peach Belt Conference play, while the Valkyries drop to 3-6.

The Jaguars held control throughout, never trailing in the game. Augusta built a 10-point lead at halftime behind a balanced offensive attack, outscoring Converse 42-26 in the paint. In the second half, Converse rallied to cut the lead to five, but Augusta responded with decisive buckets and solid free-throw shooting to close out the game.
Demitri Gardner once again led the way for the Jaguars, posting 26 points on an efficient 9-16 shooting while adding six rebounds and two assists. Max Amadasun recorded his fifth double-double of the season, tallying 16 points and 10 rebounds to anchor Augusta's inside game. John St. Germain III was a key contributor with 18 points, six rebounds, and two assists, providing poise and leadership in the backcourt.
Off the bench, Elias Palsson added eight points, converting 5-6 from the free-throw line. Evan Joyner chipped in 12 points and five rebounds, helping the Jaguars maintain their interior presence.
Augusta's efficiency proved to be the difference, shooting 54.4% from the field and 78.6% from the free-throw line
