COLUMBIA, SC – The Augusta women's basketball team secured a 57-46 victory over the Benedict Tigers on Sunday afternoon at HRC Arena. The win improves Augusta's record to 8-2 overall and 1-0 in Peach Belt Conference play.

Augusta controlled the game early, building a 16-9 lead in the first quarter thanks to strong defensive play and efficient shooting. The Jaguars maintained their momentum in the second quarter, extending their advantage to 31-20 by halftime.

Benedict outscored Augusta 10-8 in the third quarter, cutting into the deficit. However, the Jaguars responded with an 18-16 edge in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Key contributions from the starting lineup and reserves highlighted the balanced team effort.

Quinasia Abercrombie led the Jaguars with 11 points, adding 7 rebounds and 1 steal to her stat line. Autumn Phillips contributed 10 points, 3 rebounds, and a block, while Tyasia Freeman added 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. Yamani Paul chipped in with 7 points and 4 rebounds, and Mone Florence rounded out the effort with 4 points, 3 rebounds, and an assist.
