AUGUSTA, GA – The Augusta women's basketball team kicked off 2025 with a 67-56 win over Emmanuel University on Wednesday evening. With the victory, Augusta improves to 9-2. AU returns to Peach Belt Conference action Saturday at home against Columbus State at 1:30pm. The game will also serve as Youth Day - all fans under 18 years old will receive FREE ADMISSION.

The Jaguars had a balanced effort in their first game of 2025, with contributions across the lineup. Augusta trailed 15-14 at the end of the first quarter but used a 20-point second quarter to take a 34-23 halftime lead. In the third quarter, Emmanuel cut into the lead with a 20-point performance, but Augusta's defense held strong in the fourth, outscoring the Lions 14-13 to secure the win.
