AUGUSTA, GA – After a strong fall season, Augusta University is second in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Commissioner's Cup standings, boasting a .854 rating with 20.5 of a possible 24 points. The Jaguars are narrowly behind Flagler College (.859), with North Georgia in third (.820). Augusta claimed the men's cross country championship, while the women finished second. The Jags were also tied for third in the volleyball standings.
The PBC Commissioner's Cup is presented annually to the best overall athletic department based on regular-season final standings, with exceptions for golf, track, and cross country, which are based on PBC Tournament results. The award is presented in late May during the PBC annual meetings.
Men's Cross Country
The Augusta men's cross country team captured its sixth consecutive PBC Championship, tying a conference record for the longest championship streak. The Jaguars posted a perfect score of 15, led by Avery Jaynes, who earned PBC Runner of the Year honors for the second straight season and captured his first PBC Individual Championship. Jordan Robertson, Brandon Martin, Tripp Miller, and Ani Tesfaye completed the top five, with Tesfaye earning PBC Freshman of the Year honors. Eight Jaguars were named to the PBC All-Conference team, and head coach Jacob Burgamy was named PBC Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season.
At the NCAA Southeast Regional, Augusta finished second, securing a spot at the NCAA Division II National Championship in Sacramento, California. Senior Jordan Robertson became Augusta's first NCAA All-American with a 32nd-place finish (30:19.7). Augusta concluded its season with an 18th-place team finish at nationals.
Women's Cross Country
The women's cross country team had an impressive season, finishing second at the PBC Championships. Emily McBride, Madison Kennedy, Maria Biondollilo, Caroline Pierce, and Sophia Cook were all named to the PBC All-Conference team.
The team continued its success at the NCAA Southeast Regional, earning a top-10 finish. Emily McBride and Madison Kennedy were recognized as All-Region performers, highlighting the program's continued growth and excellence.
Volleyball
Augusta volleyball reached the PBC Conference Tournament final and earned the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament, marking the program's seventh tournament appearance. They face Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday, Dec. 5, at 4:30 p.m. in Wingate, North Carolina.
Janvier Buggs, Sophia Kruczko, and Jada Suguturaga were named to the PBC All-Conference team, with Kruczko and Suguturaga also earning All-Region honors.
Teams are ranked according to how many points they earn divided by how many are available to them, depending on which sports they sponsor. The number of available points in each sport is based on the number of teams participating in that sport. Associate members are not counted in the calculations.
