AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University Athletics continued its academic momentum this fall, posting a 3.31 overall departmental GPA and extending its streak to 19 consecutive semesters above a 3.0. All 17 teams achieved a GPA of 3.0 or better, marking another semester of department-wide academic excellence.
"We're excited to recognize and celebrate the academic achievements of our student-athletes," said Interim Director of Athletics Melissa Brocato. "They balance 20 hours a week at practice, 12 or more hours in the classroom with studying on top of that. In addition, we continue to see our athletes volunteering in our community and across campus. Our student-athletes are excelling in so many ways, and we couldn't be more proud of them. "
A total of 198 NCAA student-athletes recorded a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher, representing 76 percent of the department's 260 student-athletes. The group included 97 Jaguars with GPAs between 3.5–3.99 and 34 who achieved a perfect 4.0.
