AUGUSTA, GA- The Augusta women's basketball team fell to Georgia Southwestern, 68-57, on Saturday afternoon. Augusta will head to Lander on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.

The two teams came out of the gate scorching and wouldn't separate themselves from one another too much. Georgia Southwestern took a 20-18 lead to close the quarter. Mone Florence led the Jaguars with nine points on 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.
Georgia Southwestern then went on a 13-2 run to start the second quarter. The Jaguars would go into a scoring drought of over seven minutes. The Jaguars were able to cut the lead to 34-24 right before the half.
After another slow start for the Jaguars, Georgia Southwestern extended their lead to 16, but by the end of the third quarter, the Jaguars brought it all the way back to a 48-40 game thanks to Je'Bria Fullwood's athletic play on the court.
The Jaguars would cut the deficit all the way down to five, but never got it any closer as they lost their third PBC game of the year.
Mone Florence led the Jaguars in points with 20 on 6-of-7 from the field. Tomiyah Alford and Autumn Phillips both followed with 11 each.
