AUGUSTA, GA- The Augusta women's basketball team defeated Georgia College, 73-66. Their record improves to 20-7 overall and 14-3 in conference play on Wednesday night. Augusta will host USC Beaufort on Saturday, March 2, for Senior Day. Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m.

It was tight throughout the first quarter, but Georgia College had no answer for Yamani Paul who knocked down two, three-pointers, leading the Jaguars to a 17-15 lead. Augusta erupted for a 26-point quarter in the second behind the likes of Autumn Phillips. They held a 41-28 lead at the half.
Phillips continued her impressive scoring in the third and the Jaguars continued to roll, keeping a 53-39 advantage in the game. Georgia College cut the lead down to five in the fourth, but it was to no avail as the Jaguars won their 20th game of the season.
This marks the first time the Jaguar women have won 20 games since the 2015-16 season.
Autumn Phillips paced the Jaguars with 20 points on 50% shooting from the field. Kalen Surles added 16. Je'Bria Fullwood grabbed ten rebounds to lead the Jaguars in that category.
