John's Island, SC – The Augusta University men's golf team jumped two spots on the leaderboard to finish third at the Battle of Briar's Creek Presented by UPGAME. Stephan Jacobs shot a 4-under 68 in the final round to tie for fourth overall at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek.
RESULTS
Play was suspended Monday afternoon due to inclement weather and the tournament was shortened to 36 holes. AU finished four strokes off the leader. Clemson (-1) took the top spot while UT Chattanooga (+1) carded second. Indiana and Elon rounded out the top five.
Jacobs improved six strokes on his round 1 score to cement his place in the top 5 individually. After shooting an even-par 72 on Day 1,
Behn Heyns shot a 74 in the second round to finish tied for 19
th.
Ryan van der Klis stayed consistent, turning in to 74's to finish tied for 27
th.
Cole Stevens finished tied for 43
rd and
Dawson Booth finished tied for 48
th.
