AUGUSTA, GA - The Augusta University men's tennis team opened their 2024 conference slate with a 2-5 loss to PBC favorite Columbus State. CSU was voted to top the conference and ranked No. 6 in the most recent ITA DII Poll. Augusta will host Middle Georgia State on Friday, Feb 9 at 1 pm at Newman Tennis Center. 

After dropping the first two deciding doubles matches, Enzo Garutti and Herick Isago grabbed big victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots. Garutti defeated Columbus State's top player Camilo Cao 6-2, 7-5. At the No. 2 slot, Isago defeated Justin Welz in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Columbus State would sweep the rest of the singles matches to win 5-2
