ST SIMONS ISLAND, GA - The Augusta University men's golf team fired a tournament-low round of -13 on the final day of the Johnnie-O at Sea Island to climb the leaderboard and finish fifth overall.
Cole Stevens turned in a 66 (-6) in the final round to pace the Jags and finish tied for eighth.
RESULTS
Stevens carded seven birdies on the final 18 holes to wrap the day 6-under par and cap an impressive 6-under tournament showing.
Stefan Jacobs was one stroke back, carding a 67 (-5) in the final round of play to climb to a tie for 14
th overall.
Ryan van der Klis was right in the mix. His 4-under 68 in the final round catapulted him more than ten spots on the leaderboard.
Dawson Booth shot a round of 75 to finish out the tournament tied for 46
th. Josh Kokemoer fired a 74 to wrap the day tied for 58
th.
Playing as an individual,
Dean Wilken followed the trend of his teammates and cut five strokes off his Round 2 score. Wilken shot a 71 (-1) on the final day to finish tied for 46
th.
The Jaguars have a short turnaround time and will take part in the Linger Longer Invitational March 17-19. The tournament will be played in Eatonton, Georgia, and is hosted by Kennesaw State University.
