BEAUFORT, SC – The Augusta University baseball team defeated USC Beaufort 6-4 Monday afternoon to complete a 3-0 series sweep of the Sandsharks. The win puts Augusta atop the Peach Belt Conference standings with a 9-3 in-conference record. AU improves to 19-12 overall.
Augusta is set to host the annual Paddle for the Paddle game on Tuesday, March 26
th at SRP Park. The Jags host USC Aiken. First Pitch is at 6:35 pm.

Augusta got on the board in the fourth inning after
Parker Ingram homered to left field scoring two runs. The home team tied the game off a double in the fifth inning.
In the top of the ninth,
Koby Ayala broke up the tie with a double down the left field line that plated
Jake Vachon and
Kyle LaRoche.
Kyle Lodise went on to hit a single to left field that scored Ayala for a 6-3 lead. USC Beaufort scored in the bottom of the inning off a bases-loaded walk, but
Britt Kelly would close out the game on the mound and earn his fourth save of the season.
Kyle LaRoche and
Koby Ayala had big games for AU. Ayala went 3-for-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI while LaRoche went 3-for04 with 1 run.
Parker Ingram and
Kyle Lodise both notched 2 RBI.
Robert Hunt got the start for Augusta, tossing the first 4.1 innings.
Marshall Flowers and
Brayden Howigren both saw time pitching in relief before
Logan Howell (1-1) secured the win.
