AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University baseball team fell 18-7 in a PBC matchup against Columbus State on Thursday, March 28. Augusta now moves to 20-13 overall and 9-4 in the PBC.
Kyle Lodise scored the first run of the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning. Parker Ingram followed up Lodise with RBI double to push Augusta ahead 2-0.
A three-run homer and a wild pitch put Columbus State ahead 4-2 in the second inning.
Kyle Lodise hit his second homer of the game, his eleventh of the season in the third inning.
Columbus State scored five runs in the fifth and six in the sixth inning to put all the momentum in the Cougars favor.
Parker Ingram led the Jaguars with three hits and two RBIs. Kyle Lodise, Dylan Wanat, Brady Loughren and Kyle Laroche followed him with two hits each.
Garret Wright started on the mound for Augusta, finishing with five strikeouts and giving up four runs off six hits in 2.1 innings.
Augusta will play game two of the three game series on Friday at 6 p.m.
