Augusta, GA – The Augusta men's basketball team continued their strong start in Peach Belt Conference play, securing a 77-69 victory over Georgia Southwestern on Saturday evening at Christenberry Fieldhouse. With the win, Augusta improves to 11-5 overall and 5-1 in the PBC, while Georgia Southwestern drops to 6-10 and 0-6 in league play.

The Jaguars set the tone early, taking a 35-32 lead into halftime behind a balanced offensive effort. In the second half, Augusta maintained control, outscoring the Hurricanes 42-37 while shooting 50% from the field.
Demitri Gardner led all scorers with 27 points, connecting on 11-of-24 shots from the field while adding four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. John St. Germain III provided a steady presence in the backcourt, finishing with 18 points, four rebounds, and three steals while going 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Max Amadasun was a force inside, posting 11 points and 11 rebounds for another double-double.
Evan Joyner contributed 10 points and four rebounds, while Elias Palsson added three points, two assists, and two rebounds. Chaeavon Torrance provided a spark off the bench, scoring six points on 2-of-4 shooting.
Augusta's defensive pressure forced Georgia Southwestern into 10 turnovers, leading to 13 points off turnovers for the Jaguars. The team narrowly won the battle in the paint, outscoring the Hurricanes 42-40 inside and winning the rebounding battle 35-36.
