AUGUSTA, GA – Augusta University men's basketball was picked fourth in the 2025-26 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced Wednesday. Graduate forward Evan Joyner was named to the PBC Preseason All-Conference Team.
"I can't remember a time we have been picked below third in the poll," said head coach Dip Metress. "I am surprised we are picked this high with eight of our top ten players being freshmen and sophomores. However, we look forward to figuring this team out as these young Jags get experience and learn what winning is about."
The Jaguars open the 2025-26 season at the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic in Lakeland, Fla., where they will face a pair of nationally ranked opponents. Augusta takes on No. 2 Washburn on Saturday, Nov. 1, before meeting No. 25 Lubbock Christian on Sunday, Nov. 2, at Jenkins Fieldhouse on the campus of Florida Southern College.
