EVANS, GA – The Augusta University softball team volunteered at the annual Buddy Walk® on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, continuing the Jaguars' long-standing commitment to community involvement and service.
Hosted by Upside of Downs – Augusta, Georgia, the local event featured bounce houses, obstacle courses, raffle baskets, balloon animals, face painting, food trucks, a petting zoo, and live performances. The Buddy Walk® aims to promote understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of people with Down syndrome while raising funds for local and national programs supporting the Down syndrome community.
Augusta student-athletes helped run activity stations, play games with participants, and support families throughout the event.

Augusta University currently ranks No. 9 nationally in the NCAA Team Works Community Service Challenge, marking another year inside the top 10 since the initiative began for NCAA Division II institutions. Since August 1, Jaguar student-athletes have completed 1,465 service hours, generating an estimated $50,950 economic impact in the CSRA. The softball program leads all Augusta teams with 384 hours, followed closely by men's basketball with 382 hours.
