Andrew Helfers have been named the Georgia's Own Student-Athletes of the Month for October. The Georgia's Own Student-Athlete of the Month Award honors one male and one female Augusta University student-athlete from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
Giulia Rodrigues – Volleyball
Rodrigues, a graduate student from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., led Augusta to a 10–3 record in October and anchored the Jaguar defense with 210 digs — an average of 4.38 per set. She was named Peach Belt Conference Specialist of the Week on October 7 after a standout stretch that included 27 digs at Lander and 24 more in a five-set win over Georgia College. Rodrigues also tallied 22 service aces for the month and posted a .944 reception percentage, helping the Jaguars stay at the top of the Peach Belt standings.
Andrew Helfers – Men's Cross Country
Helfers, a senior from Newnan, Ga., capped a strong October with a personal-best 8K time of 25:04.4 at the Royals Cross Country Challenge before earning All-Conference honors at the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Championships. He finished third overall in 25:06.0, leading Augusta to a second-place team finish. Helfers' consistent performances have helped the Jaguars remain one of the top distance programs in the region.
