GREENWOOD, SC - Augusta was unable to overcome a slow start in an 84-69 loss to Lander on Wednesday night at Finis Horne Arena. The Jaguars drop to 17-8 overall and 11-4 in Peach Belt Conference play, while Lander improves to 15-10 and 9-6 in the league.

Lander took control early, outscoring Augusta 52-25 in the first half. The Jaguars responded with a stronger second half, shooting nearly 55% from the field, but were unable to complete the comeback.
Max Amadasun led Augusta with 18 points and six rebounds, while Demitri Gardner added 16 points and two rebounds. John St. Germain III contributed five points and two assists, and Zyere Edwards provided 12 points off the bench.
Despite a solid performance from the free-throw line and a second-half push, Augusta couldn’t overcome Lander’s efficient shooting, particularly from beyond the arc.
Next Up: Augusta returns home for a Peach Belt Conference matchup against North Georgia on Saturday, February 22, at 3:30 p.m. The game will also serve as Senior Day and the Homecoming Game at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
