GREENWOOD, SC – Behind a dominant performance from Quinasia Abercrombie, the Augusta women's basketball team earned a hard-fought 58-53 win over Lander on Wednesday night in Greenwood, SC. With the victory, Augusta improves to 18-7 overall and 10-5 in Peach Belt Conference play, while Lander falls to 11-11 and 6-9 in league action.

Abercrombie led the charge for Augusta, finishing with a game-high 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting while also recording six steals. After a slow start, Augusta turned up the intensity in the second half, outscoring Lander 41-31 over the final two quarters, including an 83.3% shooting performance in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback.
Mone Florence contributed 10 points, including a key three-pointer in the fourth quarter to give Augusta the lead. Elyse Autrey added eight points, four rebounds, and four assists, while Amari Jackson chipped in six points and two rebounds. The Jaguars' defense played a crucial role, forcing 27 Lander turnovers and converting them into 25 points.
Trailing 22-17 at halftime, Augusta opened the third quarter with a quick scoring run to take control. The Jaguars found their rhythm in the paint, scoring 38 points inside while holding Lander to just two three-pointers in the game.
Next Up: Augusta will return to the court on Saturday, February 22, at home against North Georgia. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m. THe game will also serve as the Senior Day and Homecoming game
