AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team earned back-to-back victories on Tuesday, defeating Belmont Abbey 4-1 in the first match before securing a 4-0 sweep in the second at the Newman Tennis Center.
In the opening match, Augusta claimed the doubles point with a strong showing across all three courts. Andrea Gonzalez and Juliana Martinez edged out a 7-6 win at No. 1 doubles, while Julieta Palma and Priscilla Landi took a 6-5 victory at No. 2. Camila Taborga and Giovanna Patrocinio completed the sweep with a 6-2 win at No. 3.
The Jaguars carried their momentum into singles play, where they picked up three wins to secure the match. Martinez posted a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 2, while Luciana Bejarano dominated with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 3. Landi fought through a tiebreaker to claim a 7-6, 6-4 victory at No. 4. Belmont Abbey earned its lone point at No. 1 singles, with Gonzalez falling 4-6, 1-6.
In the second match, Augusta once again took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Gonzalez and Martinez cruised to a 6-1 victory at No. 1, while Taborga and Patrocinio secured a 6-4 win at No. 3.
The Jaguars closed out the day with dominant singles performances. Bejarano earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 3, while Landi battled through three sets to win 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 at No. 4. Patrocinio sealed the sweep with a 6-4 win at No. 6.
