AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's tennis team delivered an impressive performance on Friday, securing two victories over Division I opponent The Citadel at the Newman Tennis Center. The Jaguars swept the first match 7-0 before claiming a 6-1 win in the afternoon matchup.

Facing a Division I program, Augusta set the tone early in the first match, capturing the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Enzo Garutti and Alexis Bailhache earned a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Enzo Sakiyama and Humberto Pinto picked up a 6-4 win at No. 3. The duo of Arthur Valette and David Perret fell in a tight battle at No. 2 doubles, 6-7.

Augusta dominated singles play, winning all six matchups. Garutti took a 6-3, 7-6 victory at No. 1, while Bailhache secured a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2. Valette outlasted his opponent at No. 3 with a 7-6, 6-0 win, while Perret cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 result at No. 4. Pinto and Sakiyama each closed out straight-set victories at No. 5 and No. 6 to complete the sweep.

In the second match, Augusta again took control, claiming the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Garutti and Bailhache rolled to a 6-2 victory at No. 1, while Perret and Valette dominated at No. 2 with a 6-1 win. The No. 3 doubles pair of Pinto and Sakiyama battled but fell in a tight 6-7 decision.

The Jaguars continued their dominance in singles action, winning five of six matches. Garutti earned a commanding 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1, while Valette secured a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 3. Perret, Pinto, and Sakiyama each won in straight sets to seal Augusta's second win of the day. Bailhache dropped a 2-6, 3-6 match at No. 2, marking The Citadel's lone point of the doubleheader.
