INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Augusta University men's tennis team has earned its first appearance of the season in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, checking in at No. 10 in the latest poll released through matches played by April 27. The Jaguars finished the regular season with a 12-8 overall record and went 9-7 in regional play.
Flagler College (19-2) leads the region at No. 1, followed by Catawba (20-2), Wingate University (17-2), and Columbus State (11-9). Lincoln Memorial (15-6), North Georgia (11-8), Lander (11-7), Georgia College (12-6), and Belmont Abbey (15-7) round out the top nine ahead of Augusta.
The Peach Belt Conference is well represented in the region, with five teams in the top ten: Flagler (No. 1), Columbus State (No. 4), North Georgia (No. 6), Lander (No. 7), and Georgia College (No. 8). The South Atlantic Conference features Catawba (No. 2), Wingate (No. 3), and Lincoln Memorial (No. 5), while Conference Carolinas is represented by Belmont Abbey at No. 9.
Nationally, all ten Southeast Region teams are featured in the ITA Division II Top 50: Flagler is No. 4, Catawba No. 8, Wingate No. 11, North Georgia No. 15, Columbus State No. 19, Lander No. 23, Lincoln Memorial No. 29, Belmont Abbey No. 31, Georgia College No. 32, and Augusta No. 39.
Augusta's regional resume includes wins over programs such as Coker, Palm Beach Atlantic, Lenoir-Rhyne, Montevallo, and USC Sumter. The Jaguars concluded the season with a Peach Belt Conference Tournament appearance against North Georgia.
The Southeast Region field includes automatic bids for the tournament champions of the Peach Belt Conference, South Atlantic Conference, and Conference Carolinas, along with the top five remaining teams in the final regional rankings.
The field for the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship will be announced on Monday, May 5, at 8:00 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
