KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Augusta men's basketball graduate student Evan Joyner has been named to the 2024-25 NABC Honors Court, the National Association of Basketball Coaches. 

The NABC Honors Court recognizes junior, senior, and graduate student-athletes who finished the academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Joyner, a graduate student from Greensboro, N.C., was honored for his performance in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year.

On the court, Joyner appeared in 27 of Augusta's 30 games and made 15 starts. He averaged 6.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game—ranking second on the team in boards—and shot 14-of-38 from three-point range. Joyner logged at least 27 minutes in nine of the final 12 games of the season and posted several standout performances, including an 18-point outing against USC Beaufort and a 7-rebound, 5-block effort against Flagler. He also went 8-for-11 from the free throw line in the win over USC Beaufort.

The NABC's annual academic awards program highlights the importance of academic achievement among men's basketball student-athletes. More than 2,400 players from all levels of college basketball earned Honors Court recognition for 2024-25.

"Education is one of the NABC's five core values, and we are proud to recognize the academic accomplishments of these programs and individual student-athletes across our sport," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "The dedication and hard work of these athletes, along with their coaches and support staff members who prioritize academic success, deserves to be widely celebrated."
