Stewart Welcomes Ten Additions to Women’s Basketball Program

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Coming off a 20-win campaign and the program's best season since 2016, Augusta University women's basketball is adding firepower to its roster for 2025-26. Head coach Celeste Stewart has announced the signing of 10 newcomers, a mix of freshmen and transfers who bring athleticism, scoring, size, and college-level experience across all positions.

Tamir Whittle, Nadiyah Byard, Amorie Strachan, Camerah Langston, Rhianna Mateyka, Sa'Niah Dorsey, Chloe Ross, Santianna Davy, Cierra McGinlay, and Olivia Martin will look to help the Jaguars build on last year's momentum and make another push in the Peach Belt Conference.


Nadiyah Byard
Griffin, GA • 6'0" • Forward
Senior – University of Arkansas Pine Bluff / Appalachian State

Byard appeared in six games over two seasons at Appalachian State, recording a career-high four points, two rebounds, and a steal against Georgia State. She also competed in track & field as a high jumper. A graduate of Griffin High School, she was a four-year basketball starter, a two-time high jump state champion, and graduated with honors in the top of her class.

Santianna Davy
Toronto, Canada • 5'7" • Guard
Junior – Tallahassee State College

Davy played in 26 games with 23 starts during the 2024–25 season at Tallahassee State College. She averaged 11.7 points in 20.3 minutes per game and was named to the All-Panhandle Second Team. She shot 33.8% from the field, 30.3% from beyond the arc, and 67.3% from the free throw line. A graduate of Pickering High School in Ontario, she was named team MVP and earned Ontario Scholar recognition.

Sa'Niah Dorsey
Calhoun, GA • 5'5" • Guard
Freshman – Calhoun High School

Dorsey was named the 2024 7A Region Player of the Year and earned First Team All-State and First Team All-Region honors. She scored her 1,000th career point as a junior and helped lead Calhoun High School to a Region Championship, a Final Four appearance, and a 2024 Christmas Tournament title.

Camerah Langston
Chicago, IL • 5'11" • Forward
Senior – Bethune-Cookman University

Langston competed at Bethune-Cookman University and earned recognition on the President's List. She graduated from Westlake High School where she was named team MVP. While at Westlake HS, she contributed to four state championships along with helping her team to win the GEICO National Championship in 2021. She was also selected to the GHSA Region 4-6A, All-Region 1st Team in 2022. 

Olivia Martin
Spartanburg, SC • 6'0" • Forward
Junior – Converse University

Martin appeared in seven games during the 2024–25 season at Converse University, scoring 43 points while shooting 54.3% from the field and 100% from the free throw line. She also recorded 20 rebounds and one block. As a freshman, she played in three games, scoring her first collegiate point and adding two rebounds. At High Point Academy, she was a two-time All-Region and All-State selection, averaged 19.4 points and 17.0 rebounds per game, and helped lead her team to a 2020 state title and three Upper State runner-up finishes.

Rhianna Mateyka
Waycross, GA • 6'0" • Forward
Freshman – Ware County High School

Mateyka was a two-time All-Region selection and was recognized as her team's Best Offensive Player. She led Ware County High School in blocks and helped the program reach the state playoffs all four years, winning three Region Championships and making the school's first-ever Elite 8 appearance.

Cierra McGinlay
Richmond, VA • 5'7" • Guard
Junior – CCBC Essex

McGinlay played in 35 games with 10 starts for CCBC Essex in 2024–25. She averaged 9.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 37.4% from the field and 35.3% from three-point range, where she made 82 total threes. She added 97 rebounds, 25 steals, and 12 assists while helping her team win a regional championship. A graduate of Glen Allen High School, she was named Player of the Year and selected to the 804 All-Star Team. She is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Chloe Ross
Matthews, NC • 6'3" • Center
Freshman – David W. Butler High School

Ross graduated from David W. Butler High School in 2025. While at Butler, she garnered All Conference honors both her sophomore and senior seasons. Tere she was also she was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and participated in the Butler Buddies program. She was a participant in the PLTW Biomedical Program and plans to become a pediatric nurse where she was a 

Amorie Strachan
Douglasville, GA • 6'0" • Forward
Freshman – New Manchester High School

Strachan graduated from New Manchester High School in 2025. She earned All-Region and Most Improved honors and maintained A/B Honor Roll status throughout her high school career. She was also a member of New Manchester's FBLA organization

Tamir Whittle
Columbia, MD • 5'5" • Guard
Junior – Howard Community College

Whittle joins Augusta after two seasons at Howard Community College, where she helped the program make history by securing the first-ever win at the newly renovated Kahlert Foundation Complex. A dynamic guard with a strong prep and AAU background, Whittle began her high school career at Long Reach High School, where she was named Rookie of the Year, and later played for nationally ranked Winston-Salem Christian School and Wilde Lake High School. On the AAU circuit, she competed with a USJN Top 20-ranked team, winning multiple championships despite having no sponsorship. She also competed in the Jr. NBA Eastern Semi-Finals during middle school with the MD Belles.
