CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Augusta women's cross country team turned in a strong performance at the Queen City Invitational on Friday morning, placing ninth overall in the 5K with 258 points and finishing as the second-highest Division II program in the field. The Jaguars' team total was 1:37:20, averaging 19:28 per runner, with just 29 seconds separating their top five finishers.
Freshman Gabriella Burton paced Augusta in 64th place at 19:13.5, followed closely by senior Grace Gyetko (67th, 19:20.6) and freshman Amelia Ogden (69th, 19:23.3). Senior Josabeth Graciano (88th, 19:41.0) and junior Elkin Regina (89th, 19:42.5) rounded out the scoring group.

Augusta also finished ahead of regional rivals Wingate (11th, 284), USC Upstate (12th, 295), and Peach Belt Conference opponents USC Aiken (18th, 514), as well as Francis Marion (20th, 617) from Conference Carolinas.
Additional Augusta competitors included Gabby Jourdain (92nd, 19:47.5), Caleigh Munro (104th, 20:04.7), Ansley Graddy (119th, 20:40.4), Camryn Wommack (130th, 20:52.2), Cheyenne Ryan (131st, 20:53.7), Brie Andrews (135th, 21:01.5), Carlee Hodges (145th, 21:25.2), Jupiter Boers (160th, 22:07.9), and Katlin Malone (198th, 32:04.2).
The Jaguars return to competition on Friday, Sept. 26, at the Bobcat Invitational in Milledgeville, Ga.
