Box Score 2 AIKEN, SC - Augusta opened play with a win over North Greenville. The Jaguars fell behind early but responded to win three straight frames, 14–25, 25–15, 26–24, 26–24.
The Jaguars hit .220 with 52 kills, while the Crusaders finished at .171. Augusta also tallied six aces, 68 digs, and 7.0 total blocks.
Lauren Nelson powered the attack with 15 kills on .250 hitting. Mia Saavedra hit .353 and finished with 13 kills, 13 digs, and two aces for a double-double. Layne Witherspoon added 10 kills, Angela Mateos chipped in six kills and three blocks, and Sofiia Snitsarevych recorded six kills with a team-high six blocks. Sydney Harrington ran the offense with 40 assists, while libero Giulia Rodrigues posted 21 digs.
Augusta rolled through the second set hitting .351, then closed the third on a Saavedra ace. In the fourth, the Jaguars erased an early deficit before Snitsarevych and Saavedra teamed up for the match-sealing block.
AU closed the day with a sweep of Mount Olive, improving to 4–1.The Jaguars won by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-21.
Augusta turned in a balanced effort, finishing with 46 kills at a .225 clip while limiting Mount Olive to .120. The Jaguars also controlled the net with 14.0 blocks and matched the Trojans with 69 digs.
Saavedra registered 17 kills on .311 hitting, the highest total by any player on the floor. Witherspoon was efficient with 10 kills on .409, while Nelson added seven kills and 14 digs. Mateos contributed five kills with five blocks, and Snitsarevych provided another five kills along with four block assists. Harrington dished out 30 assists and added eight digs, and libero Giulia Rodrigues steadied the defense with 21 digs.
Augusta's .262 first-set hitting established the tone, and after edging a tight second frame, the Jaguars used timely blocking to put away the third and complete the sweep.
