Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Autrey’s 24, Jackson’s 19 Lift Augusta Women’s Basketball Past North Georgia in Road PBC Clash, 76–68

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Elyse Autrey scored 24 points and Amari Jackson added 19 as Augusta women's basketball knocked off North Georgia, 76–68, in a Peach Belt Conference matchup Wednesday evening at the UNG Convocation Center. The Jaguars improve to 12–5 overall and 7–3 in league play.

North Georgia, which entered the night at the top of the conference standings, grabbed early momentum and led 22–19 after the first quarter, then carried a 39–31 advantage into halftime. The Nighthawks hit five threes in the opening period and continued to control the tempo through the second quarter.

Augusta flipped the game with a dominant third quarter. Jackson opened the half with a quick bucket inside, and the Jaguars started stacking stops to spark a 29–10 period. Autrey attacked off the bounce and finished in transition, while Quinasia Abercrombie and Sa'Niah Dorsey knocked down timely threes as Augusta surged in front. By the end of the third, the Jaguars had turned a halftime deficit into a 60–49 lead.

North Georgia made one more push late, trimming the margin to single digits in the fourth, but Augusta answered each time. Abercrombie buried a three early in the quarter to stretch the lead, Jackson converted at the line during a key stretch, and Autrey hit a pull-up jumper with under a minute to play to keep the Jaguars in control down the stretch.

Autrey finished 9-for-14 from the floor with six steals, while Jackson went 7-for-10 and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds. Abercrombie added 14 points and five assists, and Tamir Whittle provided a lift off the bench with five points and five assists.

With the win, Augusta moves into a tie for second in the Peach Belt standings at 7–3, while Columbus State holds the top spot.

Augusta women's basketball returns to action Saturday, Jan. 24, with a 1:30 p.m. road game at Flagler. Any weather-related updates will be communicated on augustajags.com.
