Augusta, Ga. - The Augusta women's golf team returns to action Monday when they head to Mississippi for The Ally hosted by Mississippi State. The three-day, 54 hole tournament, features 18 holes each day.
The Jaguars have had a busy start to the year with three events already and have played well in each. After being co-champions of the Tiger Classic, the team finished second at the Redbird Invitational and then a sixth place finish at the Lady Paladin.
The recent down time was a much needed break after the frantic start to the season.
"We've had a couple of weeks off which I think was good for our team," said Alison Crenshaw, interim golf coach. "While we have played well, the break has given us a chance to catch our breath and focus on getting better. It's our first time playing in The Ally and it will be a good challenge with a strong field. No reason to think our ladies can't contend again."
The Ally is a 17-team field so Augusta will certainly be put to the test.
