AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University women's tennis picked up its first win of the 2026 season Tuesday afternoon, defeating Coker 4-3 at the Newman Tennis Center.
The Jaguars dropped the doubles point after Coker earned wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Camila Taborga and Giovanna Patrocinio provided Augusta's lone doubles victory with a 6-1 win at No. 3.
Augusta responded in singles play by winning four matches to clinch the team victory. Maria Gento earned a straight-set win at No. 2 singles, defeating Salome Sierra 6-4, 6-4. Luciana Bejarano followed with a strong three-set victory at No. 3, winning 6-0, 6-7, 6-3.
Taborga added another point for the Jaguars at No. 5 with a tight 7-6, 6-2 win, and Patrocinio sealed the match with a dominant 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 6.
Coker earned its three points with wins at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, along with the doubles point.
Next up: Augusta travels to Belmont Abbey on Friday, Feb. 20, in Belmont, N.C. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
