Livingston, Al. - Augusta surrendered a run to West Alabama in the seventh inning that broke a 2-2 tie and allowed the host Tigers to pull off a 3-2 win late Saturday night. The Jaguars fall to 3-2 on the season while the Tigers improve to 5-0 on the year.
Augusta did come up with eight hits on the night and took a 2-1 lead with a pair of runs in the sixth inning.
Nolan Turner singled to lead off the frame. Then,
Aidan Cannaday followed with a single to right. The Tigers would commit a costly error allowing Turner to come around and score the first AU run of the game. Later in the frame, a
Kent Moon ground out would plate the second and final run of the game.Â
West Alabama would tie it in the bottom of the sixth and then plated the winning run in the seventh inning.Â
Caleb Jatko started and went five innings, allowed two runs and struck out three.
Jameson Whittier came on in relief and suffered his first loss of the year.Â
At the plate,
Jakob Cowart and
Nathan Martin collected two hits while
Roland Chance and
Kent Moon added a hit apiece.Â
The Jaguars will again take on West Alabama Sunday at noon.Â
