Augusta, Ga.- In their best showing of the year, the Augusta men's golf team posted an impressive 16 shot victory at the Gulf Coast Collegiate in New Orleans, La. in late February. Not just that,
Pieter Rossouw Jr. and
Chapman Barnett shared medalists honors in the tournament.
The Jaguars capped off the three round event with a team score of 1-under-par on the final day.Â
Barnett and Rossouw were co-medalists with Joseph Dolezal of St. Johns as the trio finished at 9-over-par. Barnett shot rounds of 77-76-72 for his final score while Rossouw shot 75-75-75.
Dean Wilken finished in a tie for 10th with
Bo Blanchard II just a shot behind Wilken.
Josh Daniels posted a top 20 finish as well.Â
On the season, Augusta competed in the West Coast Conference for the first time ever and in the conference tournament made it through to match play before falling to Pepperdine. AU also competed in the National Golf Invitational to cap off the season.Â
Blanchard and Rossouw were both named for the WCC All-Conference team.
