Normal, Il. - Despite besting the top team by seven shots on Tuesday, the rally was not enough as the Augusta women came in second place at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Il. St. Thomas of Minnesota won the team event by two shots over the Jaguars. Puntita Pawichai was the low Augusta golfer and finished in second place as the Jags had four golfers finish in the top 10. This finish by AU goes along with their opening tournament win to start the 2026-27 season.

Pawichai shot a final round 74 in a round that featured three birdies. 

Danielle Higbee had the top round for Augusta with a 2-under-par 70. Higbee birdied her second hole of the day as well as her 18th hole and finished with 16 pars on the scorecard. She would finish at 4-over-par, good enough for a tie for fifth place.

That is also where Sara Adams would also finish after a 71 in the final round. Adams made one birdie and 17 pars for a clean scorecard. 

Sofia Valera finished at 3-over-par after a 75 on Monday. Valera, who had three birdies on the day, finished in a tie for ninth place.

The non-counting score for the team was turned in by McKinley Holding, who shot 78 in the final round.

The Augusta women have very little time off and will be right back in action this Friday through Sunday at the Lady Paladin, hosted by Furman University.
