Augusta, Ga. - Just a couple of days after wrapping up the Redbird Invitational in Illinois, the Augusta women's golf team will be in Greenville, S.C., Friday through Sunday for the Lady Paladin Invitational hosting by Furman University. The 54 hole event will feature 18 holes each of the three days at Furman University Golf Course.

The Jaguars couldn't have started the season much better with a first and second place finish already in the books. With a solid group of returning players, this team is firing on all cylinders right out of the gate and look to prove their worth once again this weekend.

"It's a quick turnaround for our team but I'm confident we are up to the challenge," said interim coach Alison Crenshaw. "Most of them know this course so they should be comfortable playing there. Not only that, the confidence is through the roof. I'm looking forward to another solid performance." 

The Jaguars will have six players competing and include Sofia Valera, Sara Adams, Puntita Pawichai, Danielle Higbee, McKinley Holding and Luciana Reis. Reis will compete as an individual in her first collegiate event for Augusta. 

Friday and Saturday will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and Sunday will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Teams participating: Augusta, Florida Gulf Coast, Samford, Furman, Old Dominion, Xavier, Minnesota, Alabama, Georgia St., Daytona St., High Point and Rice.
