Garret Siler

  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant Coach

One of the most impactful players in Augusta University basketball history, Garret Siler returned to the program as a volunteer student assistant coach for the 2024-25 season. A key member of the Jaguars’ back-to-back NCAA Division II Final Four teams, Siler’s dominance in the paint earned him a spot on Coach Dip Metress' "Mount Rushmore" of Jaguar basketball.

Following his collegiate career, Siler played professionally for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA during the 2010-11 season before continuing his career overseas in China, Taiwan, Puerto Rico, and South America. Now back at Augusta, he brings his wealth of experience to the coaching staff while also completing his degree—a goal driven by his desire to set an example for his son.

Working primarily with the team’s post players, Siler offers invaluable insight from his playing days and continues to give back to the program that helped shape his career.
