AUGUSTA, Ga.
– Clayton State built a double-digit lead early in the first
half Tuesday and posted a 101-54 Peach Belt Conference victory over
Augusta State in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The contest marked the third time Clayton State has scored over 100
points in the program's history. It was also the largest
margin of defeat for Augusta State since the 2004-05 season, when
the Lady Jaguars lost to Shaw by 48 on Dec. 16, 2004.
With the win, the Lakers improved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the
PBC, while ASU dropped to 1-8 on the season and 0-2 in the
conference.
Freshman Waneta Carlisle led the Lady Jags with 15 points off the
bench. Senior guard Eboni Davis tallied 11 points, while junior
Briyana Evans added nine points.
For the Lakers, junior Teshymia Tillman tallied a game-high 21
points, while senior LaDe'Sha Stoudamire booked a
double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Junior Breanna Fort
snagged 12 rebounds and junior Latonda Bruce added 18 points.
Clayton State owned the edge in rebounding, 47-35, and shot 51.1
percent from the field. ASU shot 58.1 percent from the free-throw
line.
The Lady Jags are back in action on Thursday, Dec. 17, when they
take on West Georgia in a non-conference game in Christenberry
Fieldhouse at 2:00 p.m.
